How to Become a Divemaster: Jeson Polimin

Ever wanted to be a divemaster..or get that diving licence..for so long?
Jeson Polimin, one of ACIC successful graduate has earn the title and on his way to a fruitful career as a divemaster with a leisure company in the near future.

Meet Jeson in his diving suit.

Jeson was originally from the October 2006 intake for the Diploma in Leisure Management programme.

1. How was your time in ACIC before?
Jeson:  My time was GREAT!! full of fun and joy. all the environment, students and lecturer is good. I have a great memories that I never forget. 

2. Do you have any favourite subjects?
Jeson:  My favourite subject is (apa suda nama subjek yg mr chong ajar tu? lupa suda oh..hehe)  

3. What was the greatest challenge being a student in ACIC before?
Jeson:   The greatest challenge when I was in ACIC is assigment and when go outside to do some research. But it was fun also. 

4. What are you up to now?
Jeson:  Well, now I'm working at Layang-Layang Island Resort as a divemaster. 

5. You are a PADI divemaster. Share with us how you gain the title.
Jeson:  how I gain the title. Ok. it started when I attended an interview where there offer diving courses. This course is managed by the JPSM (Jabatan Pembangunan Sumber Manusia) and the course is fully sponsored by JPSM. after that, I was called up for this course is conducted over 2 months. During that period I and the participants were given a practical hands on training and taught by professional instructors. It is also my hobby-cum-work. hehe .. 

6. What is the hardest part in earning the diving licence?
Jeson:   The most difficult part is the last test Divemaster license which I have changed the diving equipment using just a pair of breathing apparatus in the water or it is called buddy breathing. everything is done in the water. 

7. What are your future planning?
Jeson:  My future planning is I want to open a dive shop. 

8. Any advice for those who want to have a diving licence?
Jeson:  My advice is, who would like to take this license even as a hobby or work in the field of diving. Do not hesitate or be afraid because this area is especially fun in the water of life. It also taught by qualified and professional instructors.
